Paul C. Farias, 70 of Westport died Thursday, January 4, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was husband of Karen L. (Candeias) Farias.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Alfred and Eva (Henriques) Farias, he had lived in Westport for the past 20 years. Mr. Farias was the owner of The Cobblestone Restaurant in New Bedford and had previously worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in New Bedford. A dedicated husband, son, father and grandfather, he loved being outdoors, woodworking and drives along the beach.
Including his wife, survivors include a son: Paul C. Farias, Jr. and his wife Missy of Rochester; a daughter: Tara Farias Deschenes of Rochester; a step-daughter: Cherilyn Cabral and her partner Mo of Swansea; 5 grandchildren: Katrina Bissonnette, Ryan and Bridget Farias and Brett and Jason Deschenes; a great granddaughter: Aibhlin Bissonnette; a brother-in-law: Kevin Candeias and his wife Bonnie; father-in-law: Alfred Candeias; mother-in-law: Thelma Candeias; 3 special aunts; 2 nephews; 2 nieces; 5 great nieces; 2 great nephews that he adored; and many special cousins and friends.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, January 12, 2017 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10 AM.
Calling hours Thursday 5 - 8 PM
Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford.
