Verlin Mitchell Scott, 73, of Tifton passed away Friday, January 5, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Scott at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2018, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday, January 8, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born December 18, 1944 in Tift County, Mr. Scott was the son of the late Daniel Mitchell Scott and Ocie Marie Alexander Scott. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. He was retired from the University of Georgia at ABAC and was a member of Tifton’s Nazarene Church and loved going to church.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Velma Scott of Tifton; one step-son, Tommy Willis of Tifton; and several nieces and nephews.
