Charles Robert Carter, age 72, of Chase City, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. He was born October 7, 1945 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Floyd Carter and the late Iva Jackson Carter.
He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Skipwith, VA.
He was predeceased by his parents and daughter, Phyllis Ann Carter.
Charles is survived by his wife, Linda Lacks Carter; three godchildren, Aaron Flynn, Issac Walker, and Jacob Walker; brother, Marshall Carter of Chase City; sister, Peggy Carter of Chase City; and special niece, Nancy Mull and husband, Fred, Jr. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Mary Dawson of Chase City, Margaret Flynn and husband, Randolph of Chase City, and Anna Rogers of Brodnax and numerous nieces, nephews, and devoted friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
