GORHAM- Maryon L.Johnston, age 90, passed away on Jan. 2, 2018 in Scarborough withher family at her side. She was born in Thomaston on Feb. 12, 1927, achild of the Ralph and Lucille Blackington. Her early years werespent growing up in Thomaston. Her family relocated to Scarborough and she graduated from Scarborough High School. She worked at many jobs, as a truck driver and worked at Herman Shoe and Hanson Chrysler Plymouth as office manager, and owned her own beauty shop. She will always be remembered for her love of crafting. Maryon enjoyed ceramics, doll making, and setting up tables at craft fairs. Maryon is survived by her sons Jim “Skip” Johnston and his wife Chris of RI and Arthur Johnston of Saco and Timothy Mullen. Her siblings-Arthur, Charlie, and Muriel “Sissy”; five grandchildren; Aimee who passed away in 1988, Andrew, Adam and Alexander and Allison and seven great grandchildren. Burial will be announced in the spring at Village Cemetery in Thomaston. Arrangements have been entrusted to Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service, Buxton.
