Anne Susan Dulchinos, age 82, departed this life on December 31st at the Chicopee Gardens Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She spent 10 years of her life as a nun in the Benedictine Order where she taught nursing at St Leo College in Florida. In 1967, she moved to Chicopee and taught nursing at Springfield Hospital. Anne took several years off to raise her children before going back to work as a nurse for Dr. Robert McGovern until she retired to take care of her grandchildren. She had an endless love for reading and cherished her position as Library Board of Trustee while she held it. Ann was born in Evanston, Illinois on January 2, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Philip E. Callanen and Jacqueline H. Bulifant. She was a communicant of St Constantine and Helen Church. Family was everything to her. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 49 years Dionysius “Dan” Dulchinos; three children, Susan and her husband Jeff Kazeroid of Chicopee, Angela and her husband Doug Scipione of Hingham and George and his wife Sarah Dulchinos of Southwick; four sisters, Janet Leake, Linda Knouse, Susan Gerhardt and Jeannie Bulifant; one brother Mickey Callanen; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Kyle Kazeroid, Julia and Jessica Scipione and Aiden, Mia and Taylor Dulchinos; her brother-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the dedicated CNA's, nurses and a special thanks to the Activities Staff at the Chicopee Gardens for their kindness, care and compassion for Anne. Calling hours will be on Sunday Jan. 7, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. At the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral service will be held on Monday Jan. 8th from 9:45 – 10:30 A.M at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in Sts Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church at 11:00 A.M.
