DEVLIN III, Cornelius (Neil) Francis, 78 of Dedham, MA passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2017. Neil was born on March 31, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Cornelius and Mary Ellen (Lahey) Devlin. Neil is survived by his twin brother Francis (Frank) Patrick Devlin of Danvers, MA, an aunt Ann Leahy of Philadelphia, and several cousins. He is also survived by close friends Bruce K. Warmunde, Michael J. Bellante, Robert Keogh, and dear, dear friend and confidant Louis M. Magoo. Neil spent his youth in Wildwood, New Jersey and Philadelphia. His adventuresome and fun-loving spirit led to many a summer evening dancing in the Starlight Ballroom on the Jersey Shore.
Neil served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. Thereafter he began his career in fashion with Neiman Marcus in Dallas, Texas, then at Lord & Taylor on 5th Ave., New York, with 30 years in corporate Visual Merchandising at Filene’s Boston and upon retirement owned and operated Neil Devlin Antiques in Sudbury and Wellesley, MA. Neil was an extremely creative and intelligent man who was often modest about his accomplishments and contributions.
A memorial service will be held at 11am Friday, January 19, 2018 at First Church and Parish of Dedham, 670 High St., Dedham, MA 02026. Parking in rear of church off Bullard Street.
