Doris (Baron) Cartier, age 94, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on July 29, 1923 in Chicopee, a daughter of the late Herman and Lena (Bernaiche) Baron. Doris was a former communicant of Assumption Church and currently a parishioner of St Rose de Lima Parish. She worked as an office manager for Radio Station WACE for many years before she retired. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was also a member of the former Ladies of St Ann. She was predeceased by her loving husband Aristide “Art” W. Cartier who passed away on December 22, 2011, Doris leaves 3 sons, Raymond Cartier and his wife Karen of Chicopee, Leo Cartier and his wife Carol of Chicopee and Richard Cartier and his wife Maureen of Palmer; 2 daughters, Dolores Lucey and her husband Kevin of Chicopee, Diane Chlosta and her husband Stephen of South Hadley; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and 2 step brothers Edward and William Masse. She is predeceased by 1 step brother Homer Masse. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, from 9:00 – 10:30 A.M. At the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Rose de Lima Church at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St Rose de Lima Cemetery.
