Warren A. Reed, 83

Dateline: Plainville, MA

Warren A. Reed, age 83, of Plainville, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his adoring family on Sunday, December 31, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Judith Fowler Reed, to whom he was wed on June 30, 1956.

Born in Mansfield, MA on September 15, 1934, he was a loving son of the late Theodore B. and Gertrude (Dyer) Reed.

Warren grew up in Mansfield, was a 1952 graduate of Mansfield High School and also, a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. Prior to retiring, he had been employed as a Regional Sales Representative for National Rolling Mills.

He had made his home in Plainville for the past 3 ½ years, and was a former active member of Mansfield community, of which his memberships included being a former Mansfield Town Selectman, a former member of the Mansfield Housing Authority, a former member of the Mansfield Airport Commission and the Mansfield Rotary Club.

Mr. Reed was also formerly involved with Boy Scouts of America and along with family, attended the Congregational Church of Mansfield. His hobbies had included flying, camping in Maine, listening to country music, but most of all, the treasured times spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted sons David A. Reed and his wife Vicki of Amherst, NH, Geoffrey W. Reed and his wife Marie of Mansfield, and Richard E. Reed and his wife Audrey of Peabody. He was the dear brother of the late Theodore F. Reed and his late wife Charlotte, and the late Nancy C. Connors and her late husband Daniel. He is also survived by his cherished 7 grandchildren, his sister in law Lorraine Nowlan and the late Cynthia Carpenter, as well as several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service, along with burial at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
