Anne Streitmater, 76, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017, in Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. She was born in Billerica, MA on April 21, 1941, a daughter of John Costello and Catherine (Southwell) Costello.
Anne did everything on her own terms. That extends to how she raised amazing children as a single mom working multiple jobs, that extends to how she was the most generous person anyone has ever known even when she didn't always have much to give. She never complained, she just got work done. The amount all family members learned from her cannot be overstated. She is going to be missed. Her stories will be missed, her amazing cooking, and most of all her wisdom and advice and the knowledge that she would always be there to help no matter what the situation. She loved her family more than anything and her family returns that love just as strong.
She is survived by her son, Kirk Streitmater and wife Mary of Burke, VA; two daughters, Karen Johnson and husband Phil of Brookline, NH and Kim Streitmater of Londonderry, NH; eight grandchildren, Jessica Streitmater Rayno and husband Michael, Derek Stone, Kaden Stone, Andrew Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Audrey Johnson, Alex Streitmater and Lauren Streitmater; one great grandchild, Perseus Streitmater; three brothers, Michael Costello and wife Julie of Henniker, NH, William Costello of Zephyrhills, FL, Frank Costello and wife Bernadette of San Antonio, FL; two sisters, Mary Leila Hughson of Zephyrhills, FL and Bernadette Dewland and husband James of Jackson, MI, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064.
