Carolyn Parrish Hester, “Nina”, 82, of Forsyth, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, December 31, 2017, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Ms. Hester was born August 12, 1935, in Berrien County, Georgia, to the late John & Susie Paulk Parrish. Ms. Hester worked several occupations in her lifetime with one being the editor of The Monroe County Reporter. She retired from the state of Georgia as an assistant Park superintendent at Crooked River State Park. She spent her employment with the DNR at Elijah Clark State Park and Indian Springs State Park. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her children: Pam Hester Sapp of Aiken, South Carolina, Greg Hester & Norma Jean of Forsyth, Scott Hester & Cindy of Forsyth and Chip Hester of Forsyth; grandchildren: Jaime Sapp, Justin Sapp & Ashley, Colton Hester, Bryse Hester and Moira Hester; a sister, Vera Holston of Atlanta and a brother, Harold Parrish & Ferris of Irwinville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: three brothers, Ashley Edward Parrish, Elbert Parrish and John Parrish and three sisters: Louise Harper, Katherine Dubreuiel and Retha Rawlins.
The family would like to thank the staff of Pruitt Care of Forsyth for all the love and care provided to Ms. Hester during her final years.
