Scott T. Holyoke, age 38, of South China, ME, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully in the arms of his mother and brother James on December 28, 2017 after a long illness. Scott was the beloved son of Susan J. MacMelville of Brockton and the late Thomas A. Holyoke, Sr. He was raised in Brockton and attended Norfolk County Agricultural High School. Scott loved working with and helping people, farming and raising animals. He was employed as a CNA at New England Sinai Hospital and Avery Manor in Needham prior to starting a dog grooming business in Stoughton. Time with family, friends and summers in Maine were everything to him. Scott eventually moved to Maine permanently in 2011.
Scott was the brother of James A. Holyoke of Fall River, Thomas A. Holyoke, Jr. of Indiana, Jamie Curtis of Florida, and the late Michael J. Curtis. He is also survived by his best friend Melynda Bryant of Brockton, close friend Cole Libby of Liberty, ME, and his dogs Nunu and Reckless. Scott was the longtime friend of the late Jimmy Mann, Jr.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Tuesday 4-8pm. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday in the funeral home at 11am, followed by burial in Melrose Cemetery.
