Clayton J. Chase, 97, of Kendall Pond Road, Derry, NH died Wednesday June 12, 2002 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born on January 24, 1905 in Derry, a son of the late Harry E. and Clara (Weaver) Chase. He was a lifelong resident of Derry. He worked as an auto mechanic for most of his life. He retired from Wells Oil in 1985. Clayton was an avid gardener, loved fishing and to play dominos. He loved his family and they loved him. He was a kind and gentle man. He was predeceased by his wife Maude L. (Wells) Chase in 1974.
He is survived by his daughter, Marjorie I. McDivitt and her husband Ed, of Derry, five grandchildren, Pamela Lemieux, Andy McDivitt, Clayton McDivitt, Darcey Plunkett, Duncan McDivitt, nine great-grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry on Monday June 17, 2002 from 12:00 – 1:00PM. The family will offer a eulogy in the funeral home at 1:00PM. Burial will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry.
