Whitman – Gregory R. Laing 23, treasured son and best friend passed away unexpectedly on Sunday December 24.
Born in Quincy and raised in Whitman he was the son of Vikki Laing-Fitzgerald of Whitman and Leif Morrill of Scituate.
Gregory had attended Holy Family School in Rockland and later Whitman-Hanson High.
He loved basketball, playing “X-Box”, going to the latest movies, and watching “South Park”. He was remarkably artistic and had enjoyed sketching. He also had a special talent for making “origami” animals and creations, gifting many to family and friends.
He loved animals and will be truly missed by his faithful cat “Carmen”.
In addition to his parents he leaves behind his grandparents Elizabeth Laing of Abington, Charlie and Grace Laing of Climax, GA, his uncles Glen Laing and his wife Donna of Abington and Danny Donovan of Abington, and Kelly Laing of Bridgewater as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Heather Fitzgerald and his grandmother Frances Needham
His funeral service will be held Friday December 29 at 11:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM.
