Obituary

DeCola, William Francis of Plymouth, MA passed away on December 25, his 75th birthday, after a courageous battle with cancer.

After graduating from Hyde Park High, he joined the US Navy where he proudly served his country. Upon completing his service, he followed the career path of his parents by becoming a hairdresser, later opening The Looking Glass Salon in Needham, MA. He was an avid tennis player, loved a great game of pool and enjoyed cruising around in his 1959 ‘Vette. He treasured his time with his family and friends. His infectious smile and sense of humor stayed with him to the end, and if you asked him he would always tell you that he “Never had a bad day”.

He is survived by his four children: Lisa M. Blizard (DeCola) and her husband, Charles, Jr. of Dover, MA, Lori A. DeCola-Flint and her husband, Robert of Medfield, MA, William F. DeCola Jr. of Dedham, MA and David T. DeCola and his wife, Jennifer of Waltham, MA. He is also survived by his brothers, Joseph S. DeCola of Scituate and Michael A. DeCola of Plymouth, and sisters, Mary G. DeCola and Aileen F. Kimball also of Plymouth. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren: Candace, Charles, Alexandra, Jackie, Bella and Sophia and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Richard J. DeCola of Englewood, FL and his parents, Joseph and Aileen DeCola of Plymouth. He is also survived by his loving and devoted companion Melissa (Missy) Dawson of Plymouth.

Visiting hours will be at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High Street, Dedham on Saturday, December 30 from 2:00–5:30 pm with a funeral service at 5:00pm. A celebration of life will be held following visiting hours from 6:00–8:00 pm at the Victory Grille, 233 Elm Street, Dedham. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of William F. DeCola to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02884-9168.
