Ida T. Tucker, 99, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, October 27, 2005 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald with Rev. Max Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tucker was born March 19, 1906 in Pierce County, Georgia, to the late William E. and Cassie Turner Thornton. Living in the community for the past 50 years, she was a former seamstress and homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by Sister-in-law: Frances Thornton; Nieces and Nephews: Corene Day, Louise Dykes, Dud Thornton, Russell Thornton, Patrick Thornton, Robin Lowe, John Thornton, Christopher Thornton, Owen Monk, Jr., James Edward Monk, Sr., and Clyde Curry.
She was preceded in death by her husband: John Henry Tucker; five brothers: Ruffin Thornton, Manning Thornton, Elzie William Thornton, Norton Thornton, and J.B. Thornton; and two sisters: Pauline Tucker and Mary Ann Curry.
