Marianna T. (Paone) Fortin, age 88, of Abington, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. Marianna was born in Brockton on October 10, 1929, daughter of the late John and Maria (Valante) Paone. She was a graduate of Brockton High School, and married the late Francis W. Fortin on October 10, 1948. Together they enjoyed decades of weekly bowling league and card games, dinner dates, and going for long drives. Marianna ran a variety store in Brockton for a number of years and later enjoyed working as a crossing guard in Abington. Marianna lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends. She was a woman of faith and loved listening to the Rosary and Mass. She also enjoyed all the old black and white movies on TV.
Marianna was the beloved mother of Jeannie Orlowski of Plymouth, Francis “Buster” Fortin and his wife Karen of Bridgewater, Joseph Fortin and his wife Melissa of Abington and the late Patricia Perdue; grandmother of Tiffany Cortez and her husband Miguel, Stephanie Poore and her husband Scott, Jimmy Orlowski, Jenna Orlowski and her husband Joseph Ellis, Alicia Gillooly and her husband Mark, Andrew, Anthony, Stephen and Kevin Fortin, Nickolaus, Jaclyn, and Adelyn Fortin and the late Brian Perdue; great grandmother of Julliett, Jaylynn, Austin, Max, Iris, Syvannah and Scarlett; sister of Theresa Kelley of West Bridgewater, John Paone and his wife Arlene of Plymouth, Nicholas Paone and his wife Lorna of Easton and the late George Paone and Rita Ritucci. She was the mother in law of Bruce Perdue of Texas and the late James Orlowski; sister in law of Joan Paone of Brockton, Donald Ritucci of Brockton and the late Robert Kelley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St., (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday 4-7pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Friday at 8am for a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton, at 9am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
