Obituary

Muriel B. (Bonneau) Coderre, 84, loving mother and friend to all, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on Saturday, December 23, 2017 after many months of failing health.
She was the wife of the late Wilfrid R. Coderre.
Born and raised in New Bedford, Muriel was the daughter of Joseph and Elsie (Breault) Bonneau. She and Wilfrid moved from New Bedford to Acushnet, MA in 1967 and raised their five children there. A retiree of the Massachusetts Welfare Department, Muriel was a dedicated social worker who enjoyed her job immensely. In her later years, Muriel enjoyed volunteering at the Acushnet Council on Aging, was invited to join the New Bedford Garden Club, and proved herself to be a respected and expert Scrabble player. She enjoyed traveling the world. While at Atria Assisted Living in Fairhaven, she was active in their clubs and activities. Because of her outgoing and caring personality, she was selected to be an Atria Ambassador.
She is survived by her five children, Ronald Coderre, Annette Bedard, Andrea Frechette, Phillip Coderre and Jacqueline Branco; her brother, Raymond Bonneau; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Roland Bonneau and Jacqueline Bonneau.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30th from 9 AM to 10 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church in New Bedford at 10:30 AM.
