John Earl Bennett, 65, of Lenox passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at his residence. A private service and burial will be held for Mr. Bennett at a later date.
Born April 12, 1952 in Tifton, Mr. Bennett was the son of the late John Samuel “J. S.” Bennett and Mamie “Scrap” Hinson Bennett. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Lee Bennett; a nephew, Walter Cornelius Bennett; and a niece, Eden Chantel Thacker. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Lenox and loved to go deer-hunting.
Mr. Bennett is survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Patricia Day and Lois and James Hancock, all of Lenox and Martha and Ricky Thacker of Ocilla; and his nieces and nephews and their spouses, Karen and Frank Krause, Connie and Sombaht Harris, Lee and Carol Bennett, Sherry Rowe, Vickie Hancock, Jamie and Wendy Hancock, Jason Hancock, Whitney and Billy Joe Goff and Hope and Clay Giddens.
