Dartmouth- Louis Almeida died Monday October 24, 2005 at home. He was the Husband of Hilda (Garcia) Almeida of South Dartmouth. He was the Father of Marlene Gajewski and her husband John of Berkley MA, and Frank Almeida and his wife Heidi of Falmouth, Maine. He is also survived by 3 Grandchildren Justin Almeida, Karoline Gajewski, and Abigail Gajewski, He was the Brother-in-Law of John Garcia and his wife Barbara of North Dartmouth, Manuel Garcia and his wife Millie Garcia South Dartmouth, His Sister-in-Law the late Eduarda Pimentel and her husband Mariano Pimentel of North Dartmouth, also the brother of the late Joseph Almeida. He was survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Almeida was a Laborer for Loranger Construction. He was an active member in the Laborers International Union local # 385. He was also a member of the Mt Carmel Holy Name Society and a Dartmouth Town meeting member. He was also an avid fan of the red sox and patriots.
Mr. Almeida was the son of the late Mary Lou (Lima) and Joseph Almeida. He was born in New Bedford, MA. He lived in this area all his life, in Dartmouth for the last 45 years.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday October 28, 2005 at 9 A.M., at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 6-9 P.M., on Thursday October 27, 2005 at Perry Funeral Home.
