We are saddened to announce that Zhenting Liu, 78, passed away on Friday, December 22nd, 2017 at the Beth Israel Hospital Boston following a brief and severe illness.
He leaves his wife Xiuyun Zhang; his daughters Zhaohui Liu and Chenhui Liu; his son Wei Liu; two grandchildren Tianyi Nie and Shawn Wu; and many other relatives and close friends.
Born and raised in China, the son of Xinmin Liu and Yuru Wang, he was a great orthopedic surgeon who helped many people and saved many lives.
In his early years, Mr. Liu studied in Myron High School in Shanghai. Later, he attended ShiHeZi Medical School in Xinjiang, graduating in 1963 with a M.D. He met his wife, Xiuyun Zhang, at the same medical school and they were married in 1966. Through his career as an orthopedic surgeon, he had been highly responsible for patients with his rigorous and solid work style in medical field. His high standard of continuous learning of advanced theories and techniques in China and abroad, inherited essence of traditional Chinese medicine, the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine empowered him to treat various orthopedic diseases, reduce the patient's financial burden and pain, and shorten the course of treatment to obtain a good effect of recovery.
After his retirement from Guilin People’s Hospital, he devoted more than a decade of his time to charity, treating many children with Congenital malformation diseases and bettered their lives for good.
He was a loving husband, caring father and grandfather who set a great example by practicing core values such as appreciation, kindness, and grit all the time himself. An avid chef, a photographer with curious eyes, and an enthusiastic singer, he brought joy, beauty, love and care to everyone around him.
