Donald Edward Roy, 87, of Provincetown passed away Saturday, December 16th at Seashore Point Wellness and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. He was the spouse of Richard Hufnagel.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, he was the son of the late Archie and Jessie (Hutzler) Roy. After graduating from Creighton University, majoring in Library Science, he became a Librarian for Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. After several years, he became Librarian at New York Medical College in Westchester, New York, until his retirement in 1991.
Donald was known by his friends as a lover of animals. Not only did he have many dogs over the course of his life, but he was a part-time dealer of books relating to animals.
In addition to his spouse and partner of 54 years, he leaves several relatives in Wisconsin.
At his request, there will be no services. Burial will be in Wisconsin.
