Virginia Ann "Pete" Watts Wilkerson, age 87, of Chase City, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017. She was born October 3, 1930 in Maxton, North Carolina to the late Reverend Charles Howard Watts and Bettie Fallen Watts.
She retired as an Executive Assistant for Stone and Webster Engineering Company. She was a long time member of Chase City Presbyterian Church and attended Hermon Presbyterian Church in her later years.
She was predeceased by her parents; one brother, Ryland Watts; and two sisters, Marian Turner and Evangeline Hoyle.
"Pete" is survived by her husband, Jimmie Yancey Wilkerson; daughter, Carmen Bienick Wilkerson and husband, Paul Bienick of Beaver, PA; two grandsons, Joshua Paul Wilkerson-Bienick and wife, Charity and James Yancey Wilkerson-Bienick; and two great-grandchildren, Caroline Virginia Wilkerson-Bienick and Jackson Charles Wilkerson-Bienick. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Hoyle; sister-in-law, Evelyn Watts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Chase City. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Hermon Presbyterian Church, Chase City Rescue Squad, or Southside Rescue Squad.
