Joseph F. Cabral, 78, of Dartmouth died December 17, 2017 at home after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Catherine (Carmo) Cabral.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Manuel J. and Jennie V. (Riley) Cabral, he lived in Dartmouth and Florida.
Mr. Cabral was formerly employed in research and development in the printing industry.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Cabral was a golf enthusiast and a Dartmouth High school football legend.
He was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Joseph Cabral, Jr. of Satellite Beach, FL; a daughter, Jodi-Lynn Ventura of Dartmouth; 2 grandchildren, Benjamin Ventura and Lainey Cabral.
He was the brother of the late Lawrence Cabral, Andrew Riley, Manuel Cabral, Jr., Catherine Andrews and Jennie Spinola.
His visiting hours will be held on Saturday, December 30th from 1-5 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford with a prayer service held at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of one's choice.
