Herder, Susan Therese, 65, affectionately called “Susie” or “Oma” by her loved ones, passed away Monday morning, December 18th, 2017, at her home in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born in Landshut, Germany on August 17th, 1952. Susan was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Our Lady of Consolation (St. Peter the Apostle).
Everyone that met Susan felt her compassion and selflessness. She gave the past 12 years of her time taking care of her mother and father. Susan always put others before herself and ensured that she made time for those that needed her. Anybody who was blessed to know Susan was quick to call her a best and loyal friend. We have all become better people because of her character.
Susan was predeceased by her mother, Therese U. Herder and her sister, Elizabeth. She is survived by her father, William; her sisters Sandy and Mary (Mike); her nephew Tony and great-niece Kate; and her two children, Michael (Laura) and Trina. Susan was blessed to have two grandchildren as well, Natalie and Matthew.
Visitation will be held 1pm-8pm Friday, December 22nd, with funeral services on Saturday the 23rd, beginning at 12pm at Owen Funeral Home at 5317 Dixie Highway.
