Mary Frances Harper, 85, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, December 18, 2017, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Friday, December 22, 2017, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Lance Sumner, the Rev. Chuck Taylor and the Rev. Cecil Burkett officiating.
Mrs. Harper was born April 20, 1932, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Clarence E. & Viola Belle Walker Mullinax. She graduated from Fitzgerald High School and lived in the community all of her life. Mrs. Harper was a secretary and bookkeeper for over 50 years for Tankersley Oil Company and Ford Motor Company. She loved fishing and horses and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Harper was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law: Janet & Franklin Sumner of Irwin County; grandchildren: Lance & Deena Sumner of Stockbridge; Casey Sumner of Sylacauga, Alabama; three great-grandchildren: J.T. Sumner, Loghan Sumner and Grayson Sumner; sister-in-law, Myrtle Harper; nephew, Louie Harper; great-nieces and nephews: Jeanie Leigh Harper, Emily Harper, Bo Harper & Mary Catherine; cousin, Teddy Walker and personal sitter, Wanda Andrews. Several other cousins also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Harper and a son, Clinton Rodney Harper.
