Funeral services for Celia Lavender Hammock, 60, of Ashburn will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 22, 2017 at Perry Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Hammock passed away Tuesday in Macon following injuries received in an auto accident. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.
Mrs. Hammock was born in Worth County, GA. She was the daughter of the late L. E. Lavender and Mrs. Lillis Beasley Lavender of Ashburn. She was associated with Pruitt Health Care of Ashburn where she has been a faithful employee for many years. Mrs. Hammock was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where she was a member of the church choir and played the piano. She was known as a very compassionate lady and loved going to the thrift stores and southern gospel music. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Turner.
Survivors include her husband, Huelen I. Hammock, her mother, Lillis Beasley Lavender both of Ashburn; her children, Kathy (Christy) Cooper and Tina (Greg) Wood all of Tifton; her brothers, Allen (Ann) Lavender, Jerry (Janice) Lavender all of Ashburn, and Cedric (Sharon) Lavender of Pitts and her sister, Lisa (James) Pate of Cordele, GA.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Austin Cooper, Dustin (Kristen) Cooper, Hope (Bobby) Stout and Taylor Wood.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
