Obituary

Harvis Leon French, age 92, died Monday, December 18, 2017, at the Veterans Home in Oxford, MS. He was born September 02, 1925, in Paris, MS to the late Harvis Emmet French and Ida Mae Burk French and served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Harvis was a member of Drivers Flat Baptist Church. He was a retired auto mechanic, enjoyed working in his garden, loved animals, taking care of his family and was the best husband ever.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017, beginning at 10:00 a. m. for one hour prior to the service at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a. m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Stacy Watkins officiating. Burial will be at the Jumpers Chapel Cemetery.

Harvis is survived by his wife, Ina Mae French of Water Valley, MS; four daughters, Janet French of Toms River, NJ, Candice French of Keyport, NJ, Elizabeth French of Water Valley, MS, and Patricia Pratt of Water Valley, MS; two sons, Wayne French of Jackson, NJ, and Boyd Steele of Byhalia, MS, ten grandchildren, a host of great- grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters and one brother.
