Wymon Clark Flippo, 83, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2017, at Victory Baptist Church in Tifton with the Rev. Dan Eidson officiating. Mr. Flippo will be entombed in the Tift Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Friday, December 22, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Victory Baptist Church in Tifton.
Farrell Davis, Staten May, Royce McBrayer, Joey Cook, Kenny Jones and Lindsey Evans will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Collin May, Tim Cummings and Don Harper.
Born August 23, 1934 in Guin, Alabama, Mr. Flippo was the son of the late Marvin Clark Flippo and Donnie Lillian Maddox Flippo. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Verdis Flippo, J. D. Flippo and Julian Flippo; and two sisters, Dorothy Kelley and Mary Gay Whitley. He was a self-employed drywall contractor and a member of Victory Baptist Church in Tifton. He was head of the Board of Assessors in Quitman County and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Mr. Flippo is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mildred Hayes Flippo of Tifton; his children and their spouses, Duane Clark Flippo and wife Nancy of Poulan, Diane and Todd Marshall and Steve Flippo, all of Tifton; his grandchildren, Amanda Marshall Meeks, Dawn Law and husband Kirk, Dustin Marshall, Stevie Flippo and wife Tonya, Kori Flippo and fiancé Andrew Pate; his great-grandchildren, Walker Meeks, Peyton Meeks, Kensie Law, Brodie Law, Cohen Marshall and Aubrie Pate; and one sister and brother-in-law, Opal and Bob Wood of Sylvester.
