Colleen A. "Mimi" (Driscoll) Leonard, 66, of Dartmouth passed away Sunday December 17, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Daniel P. and Jacqueline M. (Smith) Driscoll, she lived in Dartmouth for most of her life.
Colleen was formerly employed as a social worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Social Services and later for the Department of Mental Health for many years until her retirement.
She was a graduate of Bishop Stang High School, Bridgewater State College where she received her Bachelor's degree, and Assumption College, where she received her Master's degree.
She enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds in her yard. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughters.
She is survived by her children, Scott Leonard and his wife Bethany of Fairhaven, and Stephanie Cabral and her husband Michael of North Smithfield, RI; her sister, Debra Smallwood and her husband Don of Dartmouth; three granddaughters, Cora Colleen Cabral, Caroline Cailin Cabral, and Aubrey Colleen Leonard; and a nephew, Michael Smallwood.
She was the sister of the late Michael E. Driscoll and Daniel P. Driscoll, Jr.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday Dec. 22nd at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 10 AM.
