Cecil Woodard Davis, 81, of Brookfield passed away Monday, December 18, 2017, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Davis at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Tift Memorial Gardens, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Walter Powell and the Rev. Roger Cherry will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 20, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born September 7, 1936 in Tift County, Mr. Davis was the son of the late James Alexander Davis and Mary Eliza Bostick Davis. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, James, John and Carl; four sisters, Eunice, Vernice, Mary and Sarah; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Willis Davis; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Davis. He was a poultry farmer and a veteran of the United States Army. He loved the Lord and his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and loved to fish.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Hilda Gibbs Davis of Brookfield; two sons, Lamar Davis and Jamie Davis and wife Mary, all of Brookfield; one daughter, Carla Cooper and husband, Randy of Tifton; a daughter-in-law, Becky Davis of Tifton; two sisters, Betty Driggers of Tifton and Julia Smith of Jacksonville, Florida; four grandchildren, Brett Davis and wife Shae, Amanda Davis, Randa Cooper and Kaden Davis; and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Logan.
