John M. Swan, 84, of West Bridgewater, Massachusetts (and long time resident of Whitman, Massachusetts) died on December 16, 2017 after a long illness.
John was the son of late John and Gladys Swan of Whitman, Ma.
He graduated from Whitman High School in 1951 and served in the United States Army in the late 1950’s.
He worked as a Production Supervisor for BD Electrodyne and Distron Corporation in Newton, Ma.
John was an active member of his high school reunion committee. He loved to travel and enjoyed dancing, bowling and bocce.
He was the husband of the late Alice (Aubert) Swan and the brother of Eleanor (Swan) Howe and husband Wallace (Hap) Howe of Abington, Ma. the late Roy Swan, late Bernice (Swan) (Pritchard) Sherman. He leaves behind his children, Arlene Swan-Mahony and husband John, Joel Swan and wife Sharon, Andrea Lee and husband, Patrick and John Swan. In addition, he leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his dear companion, Christine Wombolt.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Thursday at 11AM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7pm.
