Joann Josephine (Surovick) Faraci 78, of Franklin, died peacefully, with her daughter at her side, Sunday December 17, 2017 at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham, following an illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Vito Faraci, who died in January.
Born March 12, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter of the late Peter and Frances (Andrujewski) Surovick, she was a former longtime resident of Roseville, Michigan, before moving to Franklin in 2015, to be closer to family.
She was raised and educated in Harper Woods, Michigan and was a homemaker. After raising her daughter, she worked as a secretary for AAA.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing bingo and trips to the casino.
Joann was a member of the Daughter’s of Isabella and St. Mary’s Church, Franklin.
She is survived by a daughter Mary Jo Peterson and her husband James of Franklin, a sister in law Shirley Surovick of Sterling Heights, Michigan, her cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Carly Peterson and many nieces & nephews.
Joann was the sister of the late Edward Surovick.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Friday December 22nd, at 10AM in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church Square Franklin. Her interment will be held privately.
There are no calling hours.
