Obituary

Hanley, James G., Jr. age 87 of Canton passed away December 15th at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, he was raised in Dorchester, attended Boston Schools and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a Driver for Burke Distributors in Randolph for many years before retiring in 1990. He has lived in Canton for the last 54 years and was a member of the McKeon Post in Dorchester. Beloved husband of the late Margaret M. (Linnett). Loving father of Jean M. Hanley & her husband John Beaton of Plymouth, Michael J. Hanley and his wife Judi of Belmont, Kathleen Smith & her husband Donald of Bridgewater, Maureen Hanley of Weymouth, and James G. Hanley, III & his wife Margaret of Milton. Brother of the late Robert Hanley. Also survived by his 5 cherished grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church, 700 Washington St. Canton Tuesday morning at 12 noon. Visiting hours prior to the mass Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Burial Old Calvary Cemetery, Boston. Veteran United States Army. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Canton Veteran’s Service Dept. 801 Washington St. Canton, MA. 02021.
