Jerry Louis Voltero, 53, of Salem, NH, passed away in his sleep Thursday, December 14, 2017, in his home. He was born in Medford, MA on October 9, 1964, a son of Sandra (Salines) Voltero and Stephen Voltero, stepmom Jean Voltero. Jerry proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy from 1982 to 1986. He served on the Coral Sea as a communications specialist during the '86 Operation El Dorado Canyon on the shores of Tripoli, Libya. Jerry had many interests including food, gambling, politics and debating, Aruba, and card games with friends and family. The most important thing in Jerry's life was family, being a grandpa and he truly loved his wife.
He is survived by his wife Debbie Collyns-Voltero; two daughters, Stephanie and Elizabeth Voltero, step-children Dennis Dyer, Amanda and Ross Collyns, three grandchildren, Mason, Dennis and baby Charlotte; sister, Kimberly Voltero and her husband Bart Troch; step-siblings Kathy, Ann Marie and Dave, John and Melissa; many nieces, nephews, cousins and best friends, Jay Salines and Robert Gurganious. Predeceased by his brother John Whittier.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 4pm to 7pm, in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH with a funeral service in place starting at 7:00pm. A memorial celebration will follow on Thursday, December 21st at 6 Christin Way, Woburn, MA starting at 3pm, all are welcome. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O.
