New Bedford – Lillian (Correia) Souto, 91, of New Bedford passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on December 14, 2017. She was the wife of Gil S. Souto, Jr.
Mrs. Souto was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Albert M. and Helen (Brown) Correia, and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. A homemaker, she was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter: Kathleen L. Tripp; 3 sons: Michael G., David and Christopher A. Souto; a brother: Albert M. Correia, Jr.; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
She was sister of the late Eunice Burrows, Luella Stockwell, Pauline LaPorte and Helen Rogers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, 5:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 8:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at 10:00 A.M.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford.
