LACONIA - Mary Kathleen Russ, 85, of 21 Ledges Drive, died Friday, December 15, 2017 at Lakes Region General Hospital.
She was born on April 10, 1932 in Fremont, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Edmund M. and Frances (Lynch) Miles. Mary was a graduate of the University of Minnesota. She worked for several years as a teacher for the Department of Defense. Most recently she worked for the Governor Wentworth School District. Mary was considered the most loved person on any teaching staff. She enjoyed music, visiting museums and traveling. She and her husband, Lawrence, were married in Germany and traveled extensively throughout Europe.
She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Lawrence Russ of Laconia, four sons; Daniel Russ and his wife Pam of Houston, TX, Steven Russ and his wife Katherine of Atlanta, GA, Patrick Russ and his wife Lisa of Alpharetta, GA and Miles Russ and his wife Ruth of Atlanta, GA, one daughter, Julia Hagearty and her husband Peter of Londonderry, one sister, Joan Hannan of Fremont, NE, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 1PM to 3PM on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home , 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Whipple Ave entrance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at St. Andre Bessette Parish - Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia.
Burial will follow at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.
