Georgianna J. (Rego) Souza, 82, of Dartmouth, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, December 14, 2017 with her family by her side. She was the wife of Louis B. Souza, Sr.
Mrs. Souza was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Joseph M. and Georgianna (Oliveira) Rego. She moved to Harmony, ME in 1983 where she resided for 26 years before moving back to Dartmouth. She had also wintered in Zephyrhills, FL. She was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport, always had a smile on her face and was full of energy. Mrs. Souza enjoyed cooking and baking and spending time with her family.
The family wishes to thank all current and past caregivers especially Tara, Katie and Daniel for the compassionate care they gave to Mrs. Souza.
Survivors along with her husband include her 3 sons: Joseph Souza and his wife Judith of Dartmouth, Carl Souza and his wife Susan of Fall River and Louis B. Souza, Jr. and his companion Sue Viveiros of Dartmouth; 2 daughters: Pamela Tavares and her husband Randy of Dartmouth and Louann Brayton and her husband Gardner of Dartmouth; a brother: Richard Rego of Fall River; a sister: Mabel Julius of Fall River; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was the grandmother of the late Todd Souza and sister of the late Arthur, Manuel, Joseph, and David Rego and Elzira Braga.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, December 21, 2017 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 P.M.
Interment will be private.
