Spencer: David P. Hartman, 53, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017, in Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston surrounded by his loving family after a 3 year battle with cancer and Graft vs. Host Disease. He leaves his wife of 26 years Dawna L. (Busold) Hartman, 3 brothers- Stephen, Tim, and Todd Hartman; his father Harry "Herb" Hartman; many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother Sandra L. (Hewitt) Hartman.
David was born in Worcester, son of Herb and Sandra Hartman. He graduated from Burncoat Sr. High School, class of 1982 and worked as a warehouse manager in the shipping and receiving department for Emuge Company in West Boylston. He was a member of The Journey Community Church (formerly Belmont St. Baptist Church) and served as the youth group leader there for many years, touching the lives of many teenagers in the Worcester area. He was an avid New England sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox, and pitched for many local softball teams over the years.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. Burial will be on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in Worcester County Memorial Park Paxton. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 12:00 noon in The Journey Community Church 25 Belmont St. Worcester.
