Gladys L. Dorminy, 97, of Fitzgerald Georgia, died Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Life Care Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, December 16, 2017, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Edsel Young officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Ms. Dorminy was born September 9, 1920, in Ben Hill County, to the late George William & Lillie Hayes Young. She attended Fitzgerald High School and was a homemaker. Ms. Dorminy loved to fish and share stories with her family and friends. She was very supportive of her children and their school activities, serving as a PTA mother. Ms. Dorminy was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Connie & Ronnie Champion of Fitzgerald; a son: Randy Dorminy of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Trista Clemons & Ryan, Koree Drawdy & Bryan, Paige Dorminy, Amy Champion & her fiancé Chris Giles and Tina McMillan & Tim; great-grandchildren: Connor Clemons, Maddison Clemons, Wyatt Drawdy, Jake Mitchell, Erica Mandrell and Cody Bazemore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Thelma Parker, Mattie Lee Smallwood and Lucille Holland and a brother, Roscoe Ivey Young.
