Augusta, GA---Barbara Lynn Moates peacefully gained her wings on December 12, 2017.
She was born May 30, 1945 in Augusta, Georgia, the daughter of the late F. L. Judy, Jr. and the late Barbara Waller Judy. She lived her entire life in Richmond County GA, where she was a hair dresser for many years at Wilhelm’s Beauty Shop and worked many years at Sallys Beauty. She later worked at A Childs World Day Care until she retired. She was a member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church and the Coed Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moates was predeceased by her sister Connie Judy and her brother Bill Judy.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years Tony Moates , her sons, Hugh Moates and Marc Moates (Leeann) , her daughter Andrea Nasworthy (Mike) all of Augusta, her brothers Farrell Judy (Merinda) of Thomasville Ga, Eddie Judy (Meloney), Gary Judy (Bonnie), and her sister Santalee Jernigan (Butch) all of Augusta, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Crawford Avenue Baptist Church, 507 Crawford Ave, Augusta, GA 30904. Her family has chosen Private interment, to be determined at another date.
In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorial funds to help cover the cost of funeral expenses in care of Gary Judy, 206 Plymouth Drive, Martinez, Ga 30907.
