Charlotte G. (Finch) McDonnell 89, of Franklin, died peacefully, at home, with loved one’s at her side, Sunday December 10, 2017 following an illness. She was the wife of the late James R. McDonnell, who died in 1985.
Born November 11, 1928 in Springfield, a daughter of the late Lionel & Gertrude (St. Jean) Finch, she was a former resident of Springfield and Florida, before moving to Franklin in 2016.
She was raised and educated in Springfield and attended the New York City Fine Arts School, where she received her degree. Charlotte worked as a switchboard operator for Mass Mutual Insurance Company. She had a passion for acting, tap-dancing and had starred in numerous plays.
Charlotte enjoyed spending time with her family, and singing in her church choir in Florida.
She is survived by her children, Patrick J. “Pat” McDonnell and his wife Dianna of Florida, Doreen A. Bailey and her husband Frank of Franklin and Cheryl A. Bonavita and her late husband Gary of South Hadley and 12 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Evelyn Leger, Lionel Finch, Larry Finch and Robert Finch.
Charlotte’s services and interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Springfield will be held privately.
There are no calling hours.
