Laconia-----Everett Thurston Henderson, 60, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 4, 2017. He was the son of Ronald H. Henderson, and his wife, Mimi of Osprey, Florida. He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Priscilla Brown Henderson.
Everett was the loving father to the light of his life, his daughter Erin Marie Henderson, of Denver, Colorado; the loving brother to Lauren Henderson Bak and her husband, Peter of Marshfield, Massachusetts; and his brother Ronald H. Henderson, Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Leland, North Carolina. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
During his younger years, Everett attended the Haverford School in Haverford, PA. He went on to prep school at the Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, MA, graduating with distinction as an All American wrestler in 1976. He was inducted into Noble and Greenough’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016. He graduated from the Ohio Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History in 1981. Over the next 35 years Everett established and enjoyed a career in the Hospitality/Restaurant business, including close to 20 years as the General Manager of the Fisherman’s Wharf Restaurant in Pompano Beach, FL as well as close to 10 years working for the Flanigan’s restaurant franchise throughout southern Florida.
Everett loved all aspects of life, including the music of Todd Rundgren in his youth. He loved warm weather, traveling, animals (especially his adored dogs Misty and Sasha and cat Sassy), and he spent a lot of time enjoying and photographing nature, posting his beautiful shots on Facebook for friends to see. He was an ardent New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan and loved all things sports.
Everett loved people, and reached out to those who needed friendship or an ear with compassion and support. He was known to family and friends as a kind and open hearted person, a gentleman and a gentle man. He leaves a legacy of kindness and caring.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Johns Episcopal Church, 48 Middle Street, Gloucester, MA. A reception to follow at the church.
