BOYLSTON: Mary M. (McGovern) O’Malley, 83, died Saturday evening, December 9, 2017 at UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus, after a brief illness. She leaves her husband of 60 years, Anthony C. “Tony” O’Malley; a brother-in-law, Richard P. O’Malley and a sister-in-law, Ann M. O’Malley, both of Worcester; and several nieces and nephews. Mary’s sister, Rita F. Sears, died in 1994. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Joseph W. and Mary L. (Grady) McGovern and was a 1953 graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester.
Mary worked as a clerk at New England Telephone for many years until she retired. She was a long-time member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Worcester.
A CALLING HOUR will be held in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St., Worcester, from 8:15 to 9:15 A.M. on SATURDAY, DEC. 16, followed by a FUNERAL MASS at 10 A.M. in ST. JOAN OF ARC CHURCH, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
The family suggests donations in memory of Mary be made to a charity of one’s choice.
