Simone Herritt, 73, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2017. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts on Oct 5, 1944, she ultimately settled for 45 years in North Stonington.
For 30 years Simone worked for Richard ‘Skip’ Hayward as an executive assistance helping pursue the Mashantucket Pequot Tribes’ federal recognition and subsequent accomplishment.
Simone enjoyed travelling and visiting areas around the world such as Alaska, Istanbul and Ireland. Her travel adventures also included a humanitarian mission to Haiti with the Haitian Health Foundation. When not on an adventure, she loved to spend time relaxing in Cape Cod or the local shoreline.
She is predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Rita Bessette of Fallriver, MA. Simone is survived by her son Scott Lee Herritt and his wife Tracy Udelson, her son Capt. Charles William Herritt and her daughter Stacy Ann Herritt.
Simone’s family will greet friends at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street in downtown Mystic on Thursday, December 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
