Laconia----Alex Gerald Emery, 78, of White Oaks Road died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Alex was born April 17, 1939 in Lebanon, New Hampshire, son to the late Chester A. and Violet S. (Pringle) Emery. Alex owned and operated Emery Apartments for many years before retiring in 2002. He enjoyed playing the violin, loved classical music, was a talented carpenter and liked building cabinets. Alex also attended the New Hampshire Music festival every year with his family. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alex is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gail (Brace) Emery of Laconia; a son, Brian Emery and his wife, Pam of Laconia; three daughters, Alicia Emery of Laconia; Jennifer Moore and her husband, William of Laconia and Michelle Mena and her husband, Edward of Deltona, FL; nine grandchildren, Tristan and his wife Lara, Nicholas and his wife Ashley, Tia and her husband Jeremy, Kirisa, Joshua, Daghen, Mishawn, Brandon and his wife Mollinda and Tyler and his wife Ashley; eleven great-grandhcildren; five sisters, Anna Kerlin of Sylvania, OH, Mary Kunzelman and her husband Fran, of Syracuse, NY, Ruth Martel and her husband, Richard of Nashua, Irene Welch and her husband, Perley of South Lyndeboro, and Doris Asimakopulos and her husband, Chris of Nashua and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind special people in his life, Tina Batchelder, Colby Batchelder and Kim Leitner.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Roy Emery, and grandchild Jamian Emery.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
A graveside service will be held Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11:00am in the family lot at bayside cemetery, Union Avenue, Laconia, NH
