Ed Purvis, 76, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Pruitt Health Fitzgerald, in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Friday, December 8, 2017, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, in Ocilla, with Elder Paul Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, in Irwin County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Purvis was born December 16, 1940, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Pearley “Bud” & Bertha Tucker Purvis. He lived in the community all of his life. Mr. Purvis loved to draw, ride in airplanes and enjoyed model trucks. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews: Wayne & Judy Mobley of Byron, Shirley & Ken Price of Damascus, Charles & Susan Mobley of Byron, Peggy & Jeff Brady of Martin and Aniece & Gil Waldron of Fitzgerald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings.
