David S. Welsh, 81, former longtime resident of Gorham, passed away on Monday morning December 4, 2017 at the St. Vincent de Paul Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, following a long illness. He was born in Berlin, NH on July 4, 1936 the son of the late David S. and Dorothy (Sullivan) Welsh and was a lifelong resident of Gorham. Prior to his retirement he owned and operated Welsh’s Restaurant for 42 years, along with his wife Nancy.
Members of the family include his sons David Welsh of Gorham, NH; Steven Welsh of Chapel Hill, NC and Scott Welsh and wife Bobbi Jo of Portland, ME; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Nancy, a son Andrew and sisters Jean Micucci and Martha Jane Henry.
SERVICES: A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The Bryant Funeral Home in Gorham is in charge of the arrangements. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
