Maria A. (Freitas) Elisio, age 53, of Taunton, passed away on Monday December 4, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of Joseph Elisio.
Maria was born in Flores, Azores a daughter of the late Joao C. and Maria C. Freitas.
Mrs. Elisio was employed in Customer Service with Market Basket. She enjoyed basketball, cooking, decorating, crafts and fishing. Maria also liked going to the Portuguese feasts for food, dancing and sharing fun times with her friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her loving grandchildren and her family and above all her date nights with her husband Joe.
Besides her beloved husband Joseph of over 35 years, she is survived by her loving children, Joseph Elisio, Jr of Taunton and Sarah M. (Elisio) Burdon and her husband CJ of VA. She was also the grandmother of Grace and Bryce Burdon and Noah Burdon who will be born in December. She was the sister of Johnny Freitas, Connie (Freitas) Baker and her fiancé Sean Hall both of Taunton, and Lucilia Turner of AZ.
She also leaves several nieces and nephews and many aunts and uncles.
Maria’s funeral will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 8:45am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Saint Jude the Apostle Church Whittenton St. Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, from 5 to 8pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
