Linda B. (Boyd) Westerlund age 74 of Brockton, died December 2, 2017 at Life Care of West Bridgewater after a period of failing health. She was the devoted wife of Paul K. Westerlund (ret. BFD). Linda was born in Pearl River, NY and raised in West Bridgewater, a daughter of the late Luke and Karolyn (Keeler) Boyd.
A 1961 graduate of West Bridgewater High School, Linda also earned a bachelor degree from the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston where she met her husband Paul and was awarded a scholarship to study art in Europe for six months.
Linda had been a graphic designer at Nason Design Associates in Boston and Hills Department Store in Canton. She was a talented designer and calligrapher and later started her own company Petticoat Porch where she designed and hand crafted miniature wicker furniture. She also enjoyed sailing, gardening, cooking and spending winters in Bonita Springs, Florida. She had been a longtime member of Pearl Street Methodist Church.
Linda will be remembered as a talented woman who could make any project she did seem perfectly effortless. She enjoyed tracing her ancestry, and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Linda leaves her children Eric Westerlund (BFD) and his wife Amanda of Berkley and Allison Westerlund of W. Bridgewater. She leaves three grandchildren Kendra, Conor and Riley and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the Judy Lourenco of Alabama and Luke Boyd of Virginia.
Visiting hours will be held at the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Thursday 4-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10am in the Pearl Street Methodist Church 415 Pearl St. Brockton, MA. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater.
