BILLERICA - Catherine Elizabeth “Kaye” (Murphy) (MacDonald) Goodwin, age 74, died unexpectedly Sunday evening, December 3, following a courageous months long battle of surgical complications and operations. [following a courageous months long battle with health issues.] Born in Cambridge in September, 1943, she was one of six children of the late Edward J. and Helen E. (Brown) Murphy Sr., raised in Cambridge and Tewksbury, and was a member of Tewksbury Memorial High School’s Class of 1962. She lived in Malden most of her adult life, and moved to Billerica in 2013.
Kaye owned and managed a day care center from her home, and had also served as a foster mother to several children throughout her life. As a resident of Tewksbury, she was a communicant of St. William’s Parish.
She was a devoted and avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, and also enjoyed watching and following Boston’s other professional sports teams.
She is survived by four children, Robin Sadowski of N. Reading, Scott Goodwin and his wife Caroline of Wakefield, Shaun Goodwin of Boston, and Michelle Goodwin of Medford; eight grandchildren; her sisters and brother, Mary Murphy of Billerica, Frederick Murphy and his wife Marcia (Ballou) of Tewksbury, Helen Hyde and her husband Robert of Wells, ME, John Murphy and his wife Kim (Poeschl) of Marshfield; a sister-in-law, Paula (Lynch) Murphy, who was the wife of the late Edward J. Murphy Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. She was the former wife of Charles MacDonald, and later, Robert Goodwin.
Memorial visiting hours Saturday, December 9, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWLKSBURY CENTER, Ph.
